AANA Study Finds High Satisfaction Rates Among CRNAs
The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists recently conducted a study on job satisfaction among CRNAs. This study found that 89% are either “very satisfied” (48%) or “somewhat satisfied” (41%) with their current job as a CRNA. It also found lower satisfaction rates among CRNAs who worked longer hours and higher satisfaction rate with CRNAs practicing independently. For the CRNAs that were not satisfied with their job, they expressed a desire to refresh their education or learn new skills.
Study Finds 52% of Americans Volunteered for First Time During the Pandemic
The pandemic has affected all of us in many ways. According to Good News Network, “65% of Americans said the pandemic has provided them with a “wake-up call” to reach out to their communities.” In addition, a new survey of 2,000 Americans showed that 52% volunteered in their communities for the first time because of the pandemic. Some of the most common volunteer activities include delivering food to essential workers, helping elderly, collecting items for a food pantry or volunteering at a food pantry, and donating blood.
Moderna Testing New Covid-19 Vaccine as Potential Booster Shot
Moderna has started testing a next-generation Covid-19 vaccine. This new vaccine could be stored and shipped in refrigerators instead of freezers, which would make it easier for distribution. The early-stage study will assess the safety and immunogenicity for this vaccine, designated as mRNA-1283. Moderna is also planning to evaluate mRNA-1283 as a potential booster shot. Last week, they began dosing the first participants in a study testing Covid-19 booster vaccine candidates targeting the variant.
